Hi,

We currently use your Variation Swatches plugin (Pro version) and have also been looking at installing Additional Variation Images Gallery for WooCommerce.

Our developer is discouraging us from using Additional Variation Images, as we have a product with 12 variations. They say if we have a number of different images for each of these 12 variations, this will adversely affect the page size and load time, as when a user visits the page all of the variations images need to be preloaded.

So if we have for e.g. 5 different images per variation, they say this will mean 60 images need to be preloaded when someone visits the page. Could you confirm this is the case?

Thanks for reaching to us.

Your developer is right. 60 images need to be preloaded (from your example) and it will take time to load.

Now it depends on your need. To add some new features you need to consider some other issues (like loading issue).

For this case (Loading Issue), we suggest-

1. Lazyload plugin

2. Compressed images

By doing the above things you can get good performance.
