Can’t proceed to add to cart after selecting swatch option

Victor Moreno

Hello, I’ve recently installed this plugin so I could see color swatches for my products.

I’ve managed to configure the color swatches, and they correctly appear, but when testing them, they don’t work. Basically, I select one of the color options in my product, but the “buy” button remains disabled. If I click the buy button, an alert pops up saying: “Select one of the product options before adding it to the cart.”, as if I hadn’t select an option.

I’m not sure how to debug it or what else should I provide to try to fix it. Any help will be very welcome. Thank you in advance.

Hi Victor,

Thank you for reaching out to us. Please kindly do a plugin compatibility check by doing these steps to identify the error :

=> Deactivate all of your additional plugins except WooCommerce and WooCommerce Variation Swatches Plugin.

=> See if the problem persists. If the issue is resolved, you can tell which plugin might be the culprit of this error by activating your additional plugins one by one.

If the plugin conflict check doesn’t help, please record me reproducing your issue using a tool like this? https://www.useloom.com
It helps me to figure out the issue quickly and squash it immediately.

And don’t forget to add your site login details in the site login details area. I’ll check what’s happening there.

You can add new users by going to Users > Add New set the user and password for us, set the role to admin, and set the info here.

And add your site URL, login username, and password in the site login area. Follow this guideline: https://www.useloom.com/share/27c1f2ac633c4060b2da883d946107d7

Hope to hear from you soon!

Thank you

Hi Tanvirul, thank you for your reply!

There were a few console errors (like, 14 errors, but most of them, like 12, related to Facebook, Pixel and Google Analytics Tag). After further investigating it, looks like they happened because of uBlock Origin and AdBlock extensions that I use. But, as stated, most of these errors seem unrelated to this problem.

So, after disabling them, there was only 1 console error left (wpo-minify-footer-e529d9e1.min.js:28 Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected identifier).

To take note, when in an incognito window (Chrome)… the plugin worked successfully.

So I wondered what was the cause of it. Both adblock extensions could be somewhat guilty, but even after disabling them it was still not working… so it really looked like it was caused by this wpo-minify-footer error.

Checking my plugins, I have this one called ‘WP-Optimize – Clean, Compress, Cache’ installed but I’m not really sure how it works. That seems to be messing up cache, somehow. I’m just unsure why, though, because even after clearing my cache, it wouldn’t work correctly… whereas incognito window did.

So, in summary: WP-Optimize is the problem. When disabling it, Variation Swatches worked perfectly. I wonder if there is any way around that would make it possible to use both of them?

Thanks in advance.

Hello Victor Moreno,

Yes, it was a caching issue actually. But our swatches plugin is fully compatible with the WP-Optimize cache plugin.

Could try to disable your all caching system, If you have Cloudflare or serverside caching enabled, try to clear the cache as well.

Thanks
