Pro Swatch Plugin Triggering Fatal Error

Mallorie Dunn

Hi there

I just received an automated notice from WordPress that the pro plugin for variation swatches was triggering a fatal error on my site. I have deactivated it for now. Please advise. This is the email I recevied:

“Since WordPress 5.2 there is a built-in feature that detects when a plugin or theme causes a fatal error on your site, and notifies you with this automated email.

In this case, WordPress caught an error with one of your plugins, Variation Swatches for WooCommerce – Pro.

When seeking help with this issue, you may be asked for some of the following information:
WordPress version 5.6
Current theme: Woostify (version 1.8.2)
Current plugin: Variation Swatches for WooCommerce – Pro (version 1.1.7)
PHP version 7.3.7-20+bionic”

Thank you.

Best

Hi Mallorie,

Hope you are well.

Can you please give us temporary admin access to your site? We’ll try to investigate the issue for you.

You can add new users by going to Users > Add New set the user and password for us, set the role to admin and set the info here.

And add your site URL, login username, and password in the site login area. Follow this guideline: https://www.useloom.com/share/27c1f2ac633c4060b2da883d946107d7

Also, Could you record me reproducing your issue using a tool like this? https://www.useloom.com
It helps me to quickly figure out the issue and squash it with immediately.

Hope to hear from you soon!

Hi there

I am not comfortable giving you admin access to my website.

I did not see an error occurring – I was sent an alert from WordPress, that I copy pasted in my support ticket, saying your specific plugin update was causing something to occur – so I turned it off and reached out. Do you suggest re-activating it and seeing if something occurs?

Hi Mallorie Dunn,
Could you please reactivate and then provide us with WordPress Error log or let us know the about the fatal error in details?

Also, if possible reproduce your issue using a tool like this? https://www.useloom.com
It helps me to quickly figure out the issue and squash it with immediately.

However, it will be very helpful if you provide us with a staging/sandbox website where we can debug the issue properly.

Thank you
