404-errors from plugin – but is not on Google

Hi

 

I need to understand why I, every day, get a lot of registered 404-errors on our site around the variation swatches plugin. I have tried to see if we have something in public from the plugin, but it does not seem to. Where does these come from. What/who is trying to access something that is not public?

I have attached screenshots of some of the 404-errors and a search from google including only the woo-variation-swatches.

Thanks for reaching out to us.

Do you have the Rank Math plugin on your site? Or, the SEO-related plugin? and enabled Google Ad bot?

If so, that plugin is trying to hit our plugin API links. That also, trying to hit other links from your category pages.

There should be an option from the plugin to disallow the API link.

I hope this will clear up your confusion.
