Feedback on Outdated Variation UI & Missing Expand Feature

Hi GetWooPlugins team,

I’ve been using the WooCommerce Variation Swatches plugin with a lifetime license, and I wanted to share some important feedback regarding the user interface and experience.

The overall visual design of the variation swatches feels outdated and unpolished. In particular, there’s no option to add a “+” or any visual indicator on the product image to expand/select variations, which is a standard and intuitive feature in many modern stores.

It’s quite frustrating, especially considering the investment in the lifetime plan. I was expecting a more dynamic and modern solution that matches today’s UX standards.

Are there any upcoming updates planned to address these issues or any workaround you can suggest?

Just to clarify – I wasn’t referring to a technical issue, but rather to the overall visual appearance and user experience of the variation swatches (especially for color and size). The current design feels quite outdated and doesn’t align with modern eCommerce standards.

For example, there is no option to place the variation swatches directly on the product image or add intuitive icons like a “+” to expand variations, which creates a less engaging user experience.

I’d love to see your plugin evolve in that direction – especially considering that I’ve purchased the lifetime license and expected more flexibility in both design and UX.

If you mean this feature.

There are thousands of themes and several builders.

So we are unable to add such features. Different themes have their structures.

By the way, you can achieve the exact look by adding some custom code using the Swatches plugin.

We focus on the function/feature and the design is up to your CSS skills.
