Swatches Not Working For Different Users

Evan Hall

I am currently using Variation Swatches for WooCommerce and I’m running into an issue I think I have had before.

First: I have a website that allows different views for users who are logged in (have accounts) vs users who are not logged in.

When you visit vernongantryeyewear.com/shop/ you will see a list of various products, which you can click and see the various swatches. In this mode, the user is able to view products and see the different colors and images, but they are not allowed to purchase products. It is this mode that the swatch settings and clicks are not activating the view to change with the selected color.

You will notice if after you log-in with your admin account and visit this page, that pricing becomes available. You can click on a product, and the swatch settings are working and switching to the selected color.

Can you assist me in fixing the issue of the swatches not switching for users who are not logged in with an account?

Thank you!

Hi Evan,

Unfortunately, the feature is not currently available.

Please send the feature request here: https://storepress.fider.io/

and ask your other to upvote it.

Cheers!

What do you mean it isn’t currently available. It was working previously… why isn’t it working now?

I need this to work for my website. Please help. I don’t understand why it can work on one side of the site and not on another…

Hi Evan,

What do you mean it isn’t currently available. It was working previously… why isn’t it working now?

We have no feature as you described neither in this version nor, in our previous versions.

We don’t have a feature to control purchases based on the logged-in or logged-out user.

It could be done by your developer. I hope this will clear up your confusion.

Thank You

I think that you’re misunderstanding my ticket… so let me try to re-explain.

My website currently uses the pro version of your plugin: Variation Swatches for WooCommerce.

My website also has an integrated side of public vs. non public pricing. We developed this into the theme. Visitors of the website who are not approved users cannot see pricing on products, but they can see the products and images, as well as different variations.

Users who are approved and have accounts with login are able to see pricing. Again, these are all things that we developed into the theme.

I use your plugin: Variation Swatches for WooCommerce – Pro so that users on all sides can click and differentiate between different products and see the different variations. Your plugin is working currently, but it is only working for users who are logged in.

The variations are not working currently when a user is using the website without an account. They are working for users who are logged in.

I invite you to log in with the account access I granted you and view the functionality that your plugin is working with an account. This will be noticeable when visiting my shop page: https://vernongantryeyewear.com/shop/ after logging in, and then clicking on any of the products: for example: https://vernongantryeyewear.com/product/adrian/. You can see that the variation swatches I set up are working on every single product in my shop.

I then invite you to log out, and try doing the same thing: visit the shop and view a product, and you will notice that the variation swatches are not working if a user is not logged in.

The plugin functionality was working previously for both users. It is suddenly no longer working for users who are not logged in with accounts.

It is still working for users who are logged in.

I’m asking for help fixing it so that it works on both sides.

Using the parent theme is not an option. I have the Child theme in use because we have customized it, so I can’t just turn the parent theme on because it will get rid of all the customizations we’ve done.

Evan Hall

I need to know how I can fix this while still using the child theme that has all of the implemented customizations that we have on the site

Hi Evan,

I need to know how I can fix this while still using the child theme that has all of the implemented customizations that we have on the site

Unfortunately, it is beyond support scope to check your customization.

As I have already shared a screenshot the console error is coming from your theme.

Please fix your console errors and check again.

Thank You
