Settings Integrated as tab in Woo Settings

Conor Doyle

Hi there.

I have some clients who use this excellent plugin. For one client, however, the settings are not located in the “GetWooPlugins” menu. When you try to go there, it takes you to a tab in WooCommerce settings instead – see attachment 1. The problem is that this tab doesn’t have as many settings as the normal one under “GetWooPlugins”.

Is there any way I can stop the settings becoming a WooCommerce tab? As you can see, when the settings are located separately under the “GetWooPlugins”, there are a lot more options.

I don’t think this is a licensing issue. All of the sites are using the free version. One thing that is different about this site where the settings appear directly in WooCommerce, however, is that it’s on a PHP 7.4 server. The others are on PHP 8+. Would that be the cause?

One setting, in particular, is missing on the problematic site where they fall under woo directly. That is the ability to turn off the “default” variation image when a user clicks directly on a variation link. On the other sites, this setting is available and we can set it so user sees the image for that specific variation first of all. However, on this other site, they always see the default variation image, even though they clicked a link that takes them directly into a different variation – and there’s no setting to change.

Any help at all would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi Golam.

Thanks for getting back so quickly. Interestingly, the client appears to have a newer version installed than the one you sent. I’ve checked the other sites and they are all version 1.3.26. The problematic site is 1.3.29 (see below).

Maybe I should rollback and try it.

Thanks.

Hi Conor,

Is it possible that someone has changed the plugin version manually?

The latest plugin version is: 1.3.26

Thank You

Conor Doyle

Hi again, Golam.

Yes, that’s it. It’s actually version 1.3.29 that moves the settings to a WooCommerce tab. By reverting back to the version you suggested, the settings return to their previous location and when the user clicks directly on a variation, they now see that variation image first – and not the default as before.

So, for example,

https://stralabeauty.com/product/artdeco-camouflage-cream/?attribute_pa_shade=492-2-neutralising-yellow

https://stralabeauty.com/product/artdeco-camouflage-cream/?attribute_pa_shade=492-20-peach

https://stralabeauty.com/product/artdeco-camouflage-cream/?attribute_pa_shade=492-5-light-whiskey

As you can see, the image that initially shows is correctly different on all three. I will stick with this version and advise the client not to upgrade for the next while.

Many thanks.

Conor

Apologies Golam. Our mails crossed.

I see. So there is no version 1.3.29. I suppose it’s possible that someone did something. I believe the client also works with a marketing agency. Anyway, I removed this dodgy version and I would expect that’ll be the end of the issue.

Many thanks for your time and promptness. This has been bugging me for quite a while. Great to have it working again!

Have a great day.

Thanks again Golam. I have contacted the other agency. I believe they did this to block the plugin updating for some reason.

Anyway, all is good now. I have left a review as you were really helpful.

Keep up the great work!.

All the best.
