Simplifying Image Assignment for Color Variations – Issues with Image Reverting to Default

Hello Support Team,

I am having difficulty simplifying the process of assigning images to product variations when using the “Variation Swatches for WooCommerce” plugin, and I’m encountering some unexpected behavior.

Details of the Issue:

• My products have multiple variations with many colors and sizes.
• I am trying to simplify the process of adding images to variations. Instead of creating an image for every possible color and size combination, I have added a new variation for each Color with “Any Size” (e.g., Red – Any Size, Blue – Any Size).
• The goal is to add a single image for each color, which should remain consistent regardless of which size is selected by the customer.

The Current Issue:

• When I select a color, the correct image is displayed.
• However, when I then select a size, the product image reverts back to the original default image, instead of retaining the color-specific image.

Troubleshooting Attempts:

1. I have tried using custom JavaScript to force the image to stay when the size is changed, but this seems to conflict with the plugin’s behavior.
2. I also disabled the plugin temporarily to test if the issue persisted, but with the plugin disabled, the images do not update at all with color selections. This suggests that the plugin is essential for the current image variation functionality.

What I Need Help With:

• Is there a better way to add images to color variations without needing to manually create images for every possible color and size combination?
• Alternatively, is there a way to make my current setup work as intended, where selecting a size retains the image assigned to the selected color?
• If the plugin has specific settings that would resolve this or if there are better practices that I should follow, I would greatly appreciate any guidance.
