Swatch type is not applied on products unless saved manually on each product

Henrik Smith

When setting the global attribute Color (pa_color) to Type Color, we would expect the color attributes in swatches to show as colors.

Now this does not seem to work, we manually have to go into edit product, Swatches Settings, and hit Save swatches settings. This is causing loads of extra work, and often swatches showing wrong in front end when adding new products. Can you make the global setting for attribute actually be applied by default? Or provide a php snippet to force a specific swatch type for a given attribute?

FYI: We have tried the same in fresh local site also, and problem stays the same.

Thanks!

Hi Henrik,

We are sorry for the inconvenience. This is not the default or common behavior.

It can happen due to WooCommerce transients or object caching.

Please kindly do a plugin compatibility check by doing these steps to identify the error :

=> Deactivate all of your additional plugins except WooCommerce and WooCommerce Variation Swatches Plugin.

=> See if the problem persists. If the issue is resolved, you can tell which plugin might be the culprit of this error by activating your additional plugins one by one.

And don’t forget to add your site login details in the site login details area. I’ll check what’s happening there.

You can add new users by going to Users > Add New set the user and password for us, set the role to admin, and set the info here.

And add your site URL, login username, and password in the site login area. Follow this guideline: https://www.useloom.com/share/27c1f2ac633c4060b2da883d946107d7
