Swatches Not Showing

The color swatches are not showing up after I activate the plugin, and set the attribute colors…

I followed your videos, but your admin setup looks different than mine.

I believe I am not using “Custom Attributes”, which I saw was an issue with other people’s setup.  So, at this point, I’m at a loss….

Hi Douglas,

Thanks for reaching out to us. Unfortunately, the links you have shared are not working from my side.

I have logged in to your site and found you are trying to use the new product editor (it is an experimental feature).

Please disable this option and try it with the legacy product editor.

Thank You

I disabled the woocommerce beta editor, and the pages are still not showing the variations.

Hi Douglas,

You have created global attributes but using custom(product level attributes) for the products: https://snipboard.io/Na7e6F.jpg

You have to use the global attribute instead custom attribute to get the colors.

Please check this tutorial to learn about the setup of global attributes: https://youtu.be/UdIOadZzQhs

Thank You

So, I have over 100 products in my store … in order to get this to work, do I need to go into EACH product and change it’s setting? Or is there a way to do this for all the products at once?

Um, and I followed the tutorial, and have done everything in that video (did you send me the correct tutorial?). So, I believe I have setup the global attributes already. Perhaps the global attributes are setup, but the products aren’t noticing them, and using custom attributes?

As for the screenshot … is that a screenshot of what I am doing wrong, or how is should be done? The tutorial doesn’t show any steps that feature that screen (where we are viewing the attributes on the products page)… So, I don’t know how to change to the global attributes from within the products. Do I need woo-commerce Pro?

And finally, if I do make these changes … will it affect my product syncing in Prinful/Printify? (I dont want to have to manage inventory and colors manually if I get this plugin working). And if an order comes in, will Printful/Printify recognize the colors, or will I manually have to place orders?

Hi Douglas,

Your site will not do anything automatically until you set them up.

As for the screenshot … is that a screenshot of what I am doing wrong

Yes, you have created attributes on that product page. It is much easier if you make them once and use those colors for several products by selecting them from the dropdown on the product edit page.

And finally, if I do make these changes … will it affect my product syncing in Prinful/Printify?

Now, let me ask you a question. Did you import these products using Prinful/Printify? If yes, Prinful/Printify always syncs product attributes by creating custom attributes(Product Level Attributes).

Please check my screencast: https://www.loom.com/share/b108d68c00ab47b1a927b7293fe99d4b

I hope it will give you an idea of what you have done and what could be done to get the color.

Thank You

Did you import these products using Prinful/Printify? If yes, Prinful/Printify always syncs product attributes by creating custom attributes(Product Level Attributes).

1. Yes, I am using Printful and Printify. So, this goes back to my other question …. Will I need to update EACH product INDIVIDUALLY in order to get this plugin to work?

2. However, I am unable to edit each product individually.
For example, I just uploaded a NEW product (hat), and the swatches show up on THAT product page. But, if you compare the two “edit product > swatch settings” pages (hats [working] vs shirts [not working]), I see that the shirt page wont let me “choose” the colors from a dropdown (which you do in the video). The hats let me do that. Is there a checkbox or some toggle on each product page to “activate” the global vs custom?

See the attached images for a comparison….

Hi Douglas,

I don’t what are you trying to send me. Your links are showing 403 Errors:

Please upload your screenshot here: https://prnt.sc/ and post the screenshot link in the reply box and post it.

Yes, I am using Printful and Printify.

Please contact the authors of Printful and Printify and ask them if they have any option to import products using global attributes. In this case, your global attribute will apply to all your products and you do not need to edit each product.

Thank You

Hi Douglas,

Please check your screenshots.

You have added the existing attribute here: https://snipboard.io/qJxWUC.jpg

But here you have pressed the Add New button: https://snipboard.io/S0Gkjl.jpg

Also, you can see in your products, that one is Color and another is Colors

Color is the Global Attribute and Colors you have added by pressing the Add New button means custom attribute.

Thank You

Technically, I never added any attributes. These were all imported from Printify (0r Prinful) that way. I’ll check with Printify (who do my tshirts) and check to see if they have any option to import products using global attributes. I honestly doubt they do (as they have very few settings regarding variations).  So, this may be a lost cause (as I wont be running through a hundred products and redoing all their attributes…

Hi Douglas,

Unfortunately, we have no feature that will make your custom attribute to global attribute.

Using our Pro/Premium version you can still add color to the custom attributes.

But, you have to add them per product. I don’t think it will be efficient for you.

Thank You
