Please test it using any standard theme like- Storefront, Twenty-Twenty theme, etc.
Then check how it goes.
Note: I will recommend a staging site to test plugins using standard themes.

It always worked before, but after the update not anymore. It look likes there is something different in the plugin. Changing theme is not an option. It is a site which is up and running. Can you please help me in an other way?

Yes, we have to change the plugin codebase to minimize issues and make it compatible with other plugins.
I can see many custom functions inside your theme’s functions.php file. Those functions are from different sources. Perhaps some customization needs to be revised to be compatible with the latest release.
Changing theme is not an option. Can you please help me in an other way?
