Dear sir/madam,

I have a big problem. I have Variation Swatches for Woocommerce and Variation Swatches for Woocommerce – Pro on my website hbeds.nl.

When I am logged into wordpress admin I do not have errors or bugs. But when I visit my website in incognito I see a lot of errors from Variation Swatches plugins on my website and some functions are not working on my website (see screenshot).3e4e6e17758553cfbf4bf8871128c8dc.png

I also saw all kinds of errors from Woo Variations Swatches about cannot connect to database. On mobile phone I see a lot of the time the page: Error establishing a database connection that is due to Woo Variations Swatches. This is very damaging and critical problem for my visitors and SEO. So please fix it ASAP.

Thank you for reaching out to us. Please kindly do a plugin compatibility check by doing these steps to identify the error :

=> Deactivate all of your additional plugins except the WooCommerce and WooCommerce Variation Swatches Plugin.

=> See if the problem persists. If the problem is resolved, you can tell which plugin might be the culprit of this error by activating your additional plugins one by one.

To perform the above test you can install the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. Then you can enable/disable any plugin/theme in troubleshooting mode. It will not affect your site setup.

The problem is this plugin. I installed the health check plugin and followed your steps. I also saw an error output where your plugin gave a warning about cannot connect to database. Its hard to reproduce these error messages, because they only come up sometimes, especially with ingocnito modus on desktop + mobile. But I know for 100% sure Variation Swatches for WooCommerce is causing it.

Please fix it asap.

For your kind information, our swatches plugin is based on WooCommerce and WordPress.

We have no direct connection with the database. The database connection is a different issue.

To learn more about database connection issues, please contact your hosting support. They can clear up your confusion.

Thanks for responding. I debugged this whole issue again and everything points again to this plugin: woo-variation-swatches-pro

When I disable all plugins and enable plugins one-by-one and eventually enable woo-variation-swatches-pro my website gives me the error (wordpress database connection issue). This is really damaging to my website. I know for 100% sure that woo-variation-swatches-pro gives my website errors, no doubt about it.

I don’t care if it costs money to fix this, I need to get this fixed ASAP! The wordpress database connection issue can be reproduced on incognito Chrome tab or by visting the website on mobile. This page (https://hbeds.nl/boxsprings/boxsprings-80×200/) gave me the error multiple times, but to reproduce the error you can click multiple pages from the header menu untill the error comes up.

You guys point me to my hosting and my hosting points me to you. I’m IT’er as well and my conclusion is that the error comes from your plugin. I’m tired of this loop where someone points me to somewhere else every time. Like I said, I don’t care to pay money to get if fixed, it just needs to be fixed otherwise this plugin is very bad for my SEO.

Please open a ticket for a refund. Because it is difficult to inspect the issue. From my previous experience:

Your server is unable to take the load when users hit a page with a lot of swatches. It reached its limit and showed a database error to you.
