Want To Add Extra Images Per Product Variation For Free? Download Now

Gallery is loading again on variation change

Hi, we need a solution to a problem that’s causing a bad user experience.

Product gallery has videos. If a variation selection is changed then it reloads again. We need to add an additional code somewhere so that the gallery doesn’t reload. Especially if variations don’t have different videos/images.

Please suggest. You can see what kind of bad experience this is causing.

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

if variations don’t have different videos/images.

Image/video change with selecting variation is a default behavior of woocommerce variable product. So we are not handling it.

I have seen that you are using the same video/image for all variations on your mentioned product – https://prnt.sc/smMIf-AWkm9Y and you want to stop the reload.

As you don’t need images/video changed for variations so you should remove images/video from the variations assigned. Just add one video/image from here – https://prnt.sc/Fl-FfPQhmiiP

The only possible way should be to remove all images from variations, adding them only in the parent product featured image/video.

Let me know if you need any further assistance.

Thank you.

Hi Alex, I’ve added the credentials to the site to this ticket.

I didn’t understand what you have mentioned.

I checked the product page and the video are still reloading upon variation change.

What would be the solution to this?

Hi there,

There have 2 loaders, our plugin loader is disabled now.

I think the youtube loader comes from youtube instead of our plugin and you have seen now the youtube loader.

I will let you know after discussing it with our relevant team regarding the youtube loader.

Thank you.

YouTube loader is not a problem. Problem is that it reloads everytime the variation is changed.

That shouldn’t happen. I think it’s a plugin issue.

Hi there,

I understood your concern.

If you change Variation, the video will start from the beginning, this is how the plugin works.

BTW, I will discuss it with our development team.

Thank you.

Video playing from the beginning is not an issue.

The entire gallery reloads making it slow on every variation change.

The gallery is already heavy due to videos and reload everytime causes poor experience and slowdown.

How soon do you think you can get back to me?

If this is going to take time then I’ll have to hire another developer who can update the code in your plugin to fix this issue.

But then i won’t be able to update the plugin ever.

Kindly allow me some time regarding this issue.

I will forward it to our dev team and let you know as soon as I get an update from the team so I can not give you any ETA at this moment.

Thanks for your patience.

Hi Alex

It’s been 5 days. Have developers said nothing about this?

Hi there,

Sorry for the delayed response.

I have discussed it with our dev team. For same variation images, there has no reload issue. Reload issues only arise after adding the youtube video. The video is coming from the 3rd party server so after changing the variation the reload happens and it’s the default behavior of any 3rd party video URL.

After changing the variation the video URL request goes to 3rd party youtube server so the video starts from the beginning each time and its behavior of the video URL.

Thank you for your understanding.

Hi there,

It’s out of our plugin feature.

Thank you.
