Variation Swatches Not Showing Correctly

Hi,
I would like to remove the variation swatches from showing instead of the ‘Add To Cart; button on the category listings. I only want the swatches to show once you open the single product page.
Can you help with this?
I can’t find a way to attach a screenshot so you can understand better
