The thing is- the changing image trigger will be fired while you click on a variation. It will not fire on page load.
BTW, I have already reported this to our development team.

Wrong product image when default color variation is selected

Hello, I noticed a quite serious bug.
If product has default color variation selected, after you ented product detail, the variation is selected correctly however product image is different then it should be. Product image is not corresponding with color variation.
It is fixed only after you reselect color.
Issue is occuring on theme Elessi and also on Storefront.
Tested on newest version of your plugin.
You can test it on this product where default color attribute is Vanilla. It shows correct image on shop page but not on product detail.
