Variant URLs don’t working

Gaurav Mehta

Hi There,

We are using Swatches Pro for woo. We are getting issues with URLs which are generated.

Query:

  1. Default URL at https://ivenus.in/product/iphone-13/
    1. Price :71,900 Variants selcted 128 GB
  2. When the user select defferent variant like 256 gb and URL would be Generated like https://ivenus.in/product/iphone-13/?attribute_pa_color=pink&attribute_pa_storage=256-gb  So far its working fine with price, variant, lable etc.
  3. Issue Now:  If in case, I sent the generated URL to any client or submit to google merchant with specific varient like https://ivenus.in/product/iphone-13/?attribute_pa_color=pink&attribute_pa_storage=256-gb after the open in a different window or device The URL gets displayed with the default price (71,900) instead of 256 Device price (82,700).
    1. As per the URL and demo on your site price and variant should follow the URL’s value, I think.
    2. How can it be possible to keep the price which is on the URLs, not the default one?

Please let me know if you need anything else from me. and please try to resolve the ticket ASAP Please.

Thanks

Amit

Hi Gaurav,

Thanks for reaching out to us. It is happening because you have added the default values Blue and 128GB.

Please remove them (like this) to get the exact variations and prices. BTW, it is a default feature of WooCommerce, not our plugin.

Thank You

Gaurav Mehta

Hi There,

I just have removed the default variants from color and size which causes issues with the default price.

As per your reply, I have removed the default variant from the specific product.

Issue 1: Please open the link https://ivenus.in/product/iphone-13/ you will not get the price, and to get the price user has to select any variants. What should I do to get the price with the default URL?

Issue 2: When I select some variant URL generated at https://ivenus.in/product/iphone-13/?attribute_pa_storage=256-gb&attribute_pa_color=starlight

You may notice after a few seconds URL will change with a different variant again which may be causing the issue in google merchand.
Why is The URL getting changed after a few seconds? even though no default value is selected in the backend.

Thanks

Hi Gaurav,

Issue 1: Please open the link https://ivenus.in/product/iphone-13/ you will not get the price, and to get the price user has to select any variants. What should I do to get the price with the default URL?

Displaying price is not a feature of our plugin, is the feature of WooCommerce itself.

Could you disable our swatches plugin and check is it working without our plugin or not?

Issue 2: When I select some variant URL generated at https://ivenus.in/product/iphone-13/?attribute_pa_storage=256-gb&attribute_pa_color=starlight

You should disble this option to avoid this behavior.

Thank you

Hi There,

I think you did not understand my issue. let me explain!

https://ivenus.in/product/iphone-11/?attribute_pa_color=green&attribute_pa_storage=128-gb

Open this URL, why did it will redirecting me to https://ivenus.in/product/iphone-11/
This is caused because I have changed “Default Form Values:” to “No Default Value” as per your suggestions.
Even if I select any value it redirected me to that selected value. If not select any value, it redirected me to https://ivenus.in/product/iphone-11/ . As the plugin feature selected variant should be open while I share that URL to somewhere else.

I have purchased this plugin only to get unique URLs for google merchant but that is not working.

If I disable the “Generate sharable…” option from the plugin it’s no use of this pluign for me.

Hope you understand my query.

Thanks

Hi There,

Any feedback on the above query, please.

I am unable to use a unique URL. While I sent that URL, they are getting changed with different variants.

Eg. https://ivenus.in/product/iphone-13/?attribute_pa_color=starlight&attribute_pa_storage=256-gb

It redirected me to https://ivenus.in/product/iphone-13/?attribute_pa_color=pink&attribute_pa_storage=128-gb

Please try to open the above URL, It will redirect to a different variant.

Hope you understand the issue.

Thanks

Hi There,

That is because we have selected 128 – Green as the default variant. As our site is live and daily more than 5000 visitors are visiting daily, so we can’t keep products with no price value.

Even If in case we remove the default variant, The Price is going to be disabled till customers don’t select any variant.

If we do as you suggested with “No default variant”, Even URL doesn’t work and it’s redirected with the root product URL as prev comment. Example Provide below with one specific product.

Let me keep one product as per your condition/Suggestions ( I will not change this product till your reply )

No Default Variant has been selected. : https://ivenus.in/product/apple-iphone-se-3rd-gen/

Issue 1: You will not find any price till you Don’t select any variant.
Issue 2: Select any variant and copy the URL like https://ivenus.in/product/apple-iphone-se-3rd-gen/?attribute_pa_storage=64-gb&attribute_pa_color=midnight

Please Open This URL to the Incognito window, you will be redirected to the root URL like https://ivenus.in/product/apple-iphone-se-3rd-gen/

Please try to reply ASAP, The problem is serious for us.

Thanks

Hi Gaurav,

Issue 1: You will not find any price till you Don’t select any variant.

Displaying the price is not a feature of our plugin. It is how WooCommerce works.

Issue 2: Select any variant and copy the URL like https://ivenus.in/product/apple-iphone-se-3rd-gen/?attribute_pa_storage=64-gb&attribute_pa_color=midnight

Please kindly do a plugin compatibility check by doing these steps to identify the error :

=> Deactivate all of your additional plugins except WooCommerce and WooCommerce Variation Swatches Plugin.

=> See if the problem persists. If the problem is resolved, you can understand which plugin might be the culprit of this error by activating your additional plugins one by one.

You can perform the above steps using Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. Then it will not affect your sale. You can also try a default theme to identify if the issue is coming from the theme or not.

Note: I have tried it in our local setup. The link is redirecting perfectly in my local machine. BTW, attribute link is a feature of WooCommerce we just generate it by clicking attributes.

Thank you
