Thanks for reaching out to us. Why do you hide the rest of the swatches using CSS?
To change the image you have to select the rest of the swatches.
If you want to display only one attribute on the archive you should follow this documentation.

We needed to show just one swatch on the archieve page, so we hide them with CSS.
But if you take a look at this product MIRTILLA, it’s got just one swatch (color) but in any case, in the archieve page the thumb doesn’t change> https://www.qualistore.it/lampade-da-tavolo-led-batteria/mirtilla/
But we try to follow the documentation you linked us to solve that problem.
Have you take a look at the SKU problem we told you in the variable products?

Unfortunately, we have no connection with SKU and it is the feature of WooCommerce itself.
Could you disable our swatches plugin and check is it working without our plugin or not?

Hello,
we’ve got a problem with your plugin Variation Swatches for WooCommerce – Pro.
We saw in your demo website that in archive page when you click on the variation thumb, the attribute preview changes (example1 attachment).
Also when we have different sku in the variable products is not shown in the product page.
We try to set it on our website, but we don’t understand how to do it.
Can you help us, please? Can you tell us what should we set?
