Corresponding variation Image

Hi there,

Is it possible that if someone is part way through the product image gallery and then selects a different variation, that it can be set so the corresponding variation image displays, rather than the going back to the first image for the new variation?

Asked another way—if a user is at the third image of a particular variation gallery, and then selects a new variation, is it possible to initially how the third image of that new variation gallery?
