Want To Add Extra Images Per Product Variation For Free? Download Now

Hi,

We are trying to create condition swatches just like this: https://www.gamestop.com/video-games/pc-games/products/nba-2k20—playstation-4/205007.html

My developer is saying that your plugin will not work out of box for reasons he gives below.

“The tool/plugin does not do the automatic selection of variations. In this case “New” or “Pre-Owned” are not selected when you load the page. Out of the box working with this plugin and WooCommerce, store owners will select one variation over another to be the default and custom code is not needed, but in your case it is not like you are selling t-shirts and can keep getting them, Many products are only “Pre-Owned” or out of stock and many new ones are only “new” or out of stock, so that whole idea does not play well with how you sell.”

How can we make this to work using the plugin?

Thanks,

Steve

Hi Steven,

Thanks for reaching out to us. I have created a test product for you- https://gameware.com/?post_type=product&p=570490&preview=true

Note: It is a draft product. So, you have to log in to check this product.

Do you want something like this? The scenario is-

1. Initially Xbox One and New are selected.

2. To get PlayStation 4 in the dropdown, you have to select the Pre-Owned button first. Because PlayStation 4 and New combination is Out of Stock.

I hope it will clarify what you can do with our plugin.

Thank You

Hi Hakik,

Thank you for the reply and making the test product for me. That was very helpful.

The way you have the test product is close. I wish we could get it to default to a certain platform (PS4 since it’s the most popular) I also wish that all platforms would display in the drop down regardless of stock status. Could this be done with special coding? Otherwise it may be a little confusing for customer’s.

If we decided to remove the platform selection drop down and just have one platform per product page (IE all 3 different versions of NBA 2K would have their own page) and just have the 2 condition options of New and Pre-Owned could we default to New and have it look like this excluding platform drop down?

Hi Steven,

What you have asked is the default behavior of WooCommerce.

I wish we could get it to default to a certain platform

You can set any value for the platform from the product edit page as default (PS4 or  Xbox One)

If we decided to remove the platform selection drop down and just have one platform per product page (IE all 3 different versions of NBA 2K would have their own page) and just have the 2 condition options of New and Pre-Owned could we default to New and have it look like this excluding platform drop down?

Create a separate product using condition attributes (New, Pre-Owned). It is also a WooCommerce feature. Please check the official documentation of the WooCommerce Variable Product.

Thank You

Our website has over 14,000 products. I would like to default Used for certain product categories and New for others. Since manually doing this by hand is not practical are you able to suggest another way of doing this?

On the below page Playstation 4 is the default Platform and Pre-Owned is the default condition. Without having to click on each condition you can tell which condition is in stock/out of stock. Can this be done?

https://www.gamestop.com/video-games/playstation-4/products/madden-nfl-20—playstation-4/203326.html

Also, can all Platforms be listed in the drop down regardless of availability? For example The Platform Nintendo Switch is out of stock but is still listed on the below example.

https://www.gamestop.com/video-games/playstation-4/products/dusk-diver—playstation-4/11097450.html?dwvar_11097450_condition=Pre-Owned

Thanks,

Steve

Hi Steven,

Since manually doing this by hand is not practical are you able to suggest another way of doing this?

It is the process of how WooCommerce works. What are you asking is not related to our plugin.

Please check WooComemrce Official Documentation on Importing Products.

Thank You

Just to be clear. Am I able to do the below with your software without any customize programming?

https://www.gamestop.com/video-games/playstation-4/products/madden-nfl-20—playstation-4/203326.html

All Platforms are listed in the dropdown regardless of stock status and without further action.

You can see stock status of all conditions of the default Platform without having to select anything.

By selecting another Platform in dropdown you can see stock status of that platform without further action.

It’s really simple.

Thanks,

Steve

Hi Steven,

Our plugin just converts the default dropdowns to beautiful swatches. I have already made a draft product for you to check “how our plugin works”.

If you want to display the stock on an image like this, I just want to let you know, it is not currently available in WooCommerce.

You can recheck the draft product to clear your confusion-

https://gameware.com/?post_type=product&p=570490&preview=true

Note: It is a draft product. So, you have to log in to check this product.

Thank You

Okay I just wanted to make sure. Can this be done with custom programming? I of course would be willing to pay for it. Or it just can’t be done due to Woocommerce limitations.

Thanks

Hi, any input regarding custom programming would be appreciated.

Hi Steven,

Unfortunately, we are not taking any custom requests right now.

But it is a great idea you can send this as a feature request here-
