Setting images when only a single variation is selected

David Martin

Hi there,

We’ve got products with colour and size variations.

I’ve set up the product so that the different colour variations have images appropriate for their colour.
So a product has Black and Blue colour variations. The standard product image is black, The black variation images is black, the blue variation images are blue.

On the page for the product, when the user first sees it, it shows the black image – which is fine.
When the user selects the colour blue, the image does not change.
When the user selects a size, the image changes to blue.

Is there anyway we can use the plugin to display the blue image, as soon as the user selects the colour blue? without selecting a size.

Cheers, Dave

Hi David,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

Please make sure your theme has any gallery features or not. If your theme has a gallery feature, please disable the theme-built gallery and enable the WooCommerce default gallery.

If your theme didn’t provide a visual option to enable the default gallery, please contact theme support and ask them to do it for you.

Note: Our “Single Variation Image Preview” is an extension of the default WooCommerce gallery. It will not work with your theme-built gallery. Because there are several themes with different gallery structures. It is not possible to make it compatible with each. That’s why we extended the default WooCommerce Gallery.

Hope to hear from you soon!

Thank you

Hi Hakik,

Thanks for your reply, sorry it’s taken me so long to respond. I was waiting for one of devel0pers to be able to answer your question.

The theme we are using was a child theme of the standard Woo theme, we disabled our child theme and so tested with the default Woo theme. Unfortunately we got the same problem.

On the page for the product, when the user first sees it, it shows the black image – which is fine.
When the user selects the colour blue, the image does not change.
When the user selects a size, the image changes to blue.

How can we solve this problem?

Cheers, Dave
