Swatch selection not disabling invalid attribute combinations for one product

One of our customers has come to us with a problem we were hoping you could help us with. When a customer makes a swatch choice, usually the remaining swatches get filtered down to just those that are part of an existing variation. However, on one specific product, and that product only, this does not work and all choices remain visible even when no variation with that combination of attributes exist.
